Connoisseur's Guide to California Wine, January 2018 - 92pts"Wonderment’s first-rate Zinfandel reviewed earlier in this issue finds an equally impressive partner in this carefully constructed Sauvignon Blanc, and the latter garners very high marks for its unwavering varietal focus and fine fruity depth. It is moderately full-bodied and loaded with concentrated, lightly herbal, lemon-tinged fruit, and, as inviting as it is in its youth, it conveys an uncommon sense of reserve that is the harbinger of great things to come. Well-made Sauvignon Blanc has the ability to age and improve for many years, and this serious offering is one that is destined to do so famously."
Zinfandel Chronicles, November 2017 - 90pts "Light straw in color. 14.4% ABV. Delightful nose of stone fruits, lemongrass and minerals. Medium body with bright acidity. Rich and somewhat oily. Pineapple, lemon oil and pears on the palate. The finish lingers. Super Sauvignon Blanc. Drink over the next 2-3 years."
The 2015’ Las Trancas Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is Wonderment’s first vintage of this classic white varietal. The wine was pressed whole cluster straight from the vineyard and racked to 50% Stainless Steel Barrel and 50% Neutral Burgundian Oak fermenting in barrel on its lees. The wine was again racked after fermentation and returned to the same percentage of Stainless and Neutral Oak where it rested for 5 months before being bottled on February, 26th 2016. The Las Trancas Sauvignon Blanc shows pear and lemon peel initially with a hint of baked lemon meringue. Its wonderful mouthfeel is followed by vibrant acidity and a touch of stony minerality. We are very excited to share this refreshing and lively wine from the Las Trancas Vineyard in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley.
RobertParker.com, Issue #227, October 28, 2016 87pts"The 2015 Sauvignon Blanc Las Trancas Vineyard comes from Oak Knoll and is all made from the more exotic and perfumed Musqué clone. It is a clean, steely style of Sauvignon with notes of melon, caramelized citrus, especially grapefruit. This is a ripe, rather Bordeaux style of Sauvignon that is medium-bodied, dry and well-made. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.
Wine Enthusiast, November 2017 Buying Guide - 87pts"This wine offers lively citrus and moderate acidity— a simple dry expression of the variety that refreshes. Stainless-steel fermented, it’s been aged in both stainless and neutral Burgundy oak, adding complexity around the seasonings of lemongrass and ginger. —V.B.
Zinfandel Chronicles, November 2017 - 89pts "Straw colored and 14% ABV. Nice nose of lemons, tropical fruits, grass and wet stones. Medium body with medium acidity. Crisp and fresh. Green apples, lemons and peach on the palate. The finish is long and tangy. Drink over the next several years."
Light honey in color with wonderful similarities to the 2013 Hyde Semillon. The 2014 Hyde Semillon exhibits aromas of crisp lemongrass and honeysuckle with flavors of stone fruit, with a slightly fuller mid-palate than the previous year. The wine is wonderfully balanced with crisp acidity that provides for a seamless and complete finish.
*RobertParker.com #227 – Oct 28th, 2016 - 90pts“Stephanie Cook’s touch with white wine seems impressive as well. Take for example the 2015 Semillon Hyde Vineyard. This is a large vineyard with many different varieties planted, but this 100% Semillon exhibits crisp, almost Chardonnay-like texture, notes of candle wax, lanolin, citrus blossom and an intriguing spiciness. It is medium-bodied with crisp acids and an alluring overall style. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.”
