Easy to like now, with micro grain tannins, supportive acidity, and a flattering finish."

"The color is a bright, translucent ruby with a pale pink rim. The nose is not shy, it rises from the glass to greet you with cedar shavings, graphite, raspberry and hints of fresh baked bread. Very inviting. The flavors are bold yet ethereal. Rich fruit up front; blackberry, ripe cherry, tart cranberry that fades into an earthy layer with notes of leather and tobacco. Silky tannins. It has a long warming finish with a touch of oak...  This wine is a great example of how good a Pinot Noir can be. As good as it is now, it’s youth is evident. A year or two in the cellar would do wonders."

Zinfandel Chronicles, November 2017 – 93pts "Light crimson in color. 14.2% ABV. Spellbinding nose of red fruits, forest floor and baking spices. Medium body with ample acidity. Restrained and earthy. Bing cherries, cranberries and earth on the palate. The finish is long and spicy. The wine picks up weight with time in the glass. Well made Pinot Noir. Drink over the next 4-6 years."

Crimson in color with a nose of ripe red fruits, spices and black pepper. A velvety layered palate create a focus on the sweetness of the red and black fruit.  Subtle rounded tannins with near perfect acidity finish this years vintage of Burton Ranch Old Vine Zinfandel.

Wonderment’s 3rd vintage from this steep hillside block. This mountain Zinfandel shows crimson and magenta colors in the glass. The nose exhibits the historical black cherry, spice and pepper characteristics this vineyard has shown since our inaugural vintage in 2012. Balanced acidity and long finish complete this wine.

The 2014 vintage of Dr. Stan’s Vineyard again shows its old vine Dijon 115 roots. Ruby red in color, the nose reveals a core of red fruits - raspberries, cherry and strawberry dominate with a hint of baking spice that has been prevalent in prior vintages. Well balanced with medium weight on the palate. The wine finishes with lively acidity , length and elegant tannins. As with the 2013 this small production Pinot Noir will continue to improve with age and time in the bottle.

It exhibits soft, strawberry, plum and sweet cherry notes, has a medium-ruby color, a lush, spicy mouthfeel and excellent balance. It is seductive, medium-weight and could easily pass in a blind tasting for a Premier Cru from the Côte de Beaune. Drink it over the next 5-7 years.”

This is from a larger vineyard and this particular Pinot is made from Dijon clones 777 as well as the Pommard selection. This is a slightly deeper, more structured style of Pinot Noir with notes of pomegranate, red and black cherries, dusty/loamy soil undertones, medium body and light tannin. It is a lovely, rich wine that should drink nicely for another 5-7 years.”

Deep Red color with hues of Violet and a nose of bright red fruits, pepper and ripe plum.  The palate is rich with brambly dark fruits and a touch of dark chocolate.  Elegant tannins and balance give way to a long finish.

Dark violet in color bordering on black.  The 2014 vintage of this half acre of dry farmed petite sirah again shows its power, density and tannic backbone via a mouthful of black and blue fruits.  The wine is bright and vibrant with an endless finish. Another vintage enjoyed now or cellared to be enjoyed during the next decade.

Wine Enthusiast, February 2018 - 92pts "Aged in Burgundy oak barrels, this refined, balanced and ultimately delicious wine features strawberry-preserve flavors wrapped in toasty oak. Leather, cigar box and a bite of cedar add to its complex whole, its texture soft, fulsome and richly layered."

Zinfandel Chronicles, November 2016 - 91pts "Violet almost inky in color. 14.1% ABV. Powerful nose of blue fruits, tar and iron. Medium to full bodied with medium acidity. Glass staining. Concentrated, dense and powerful. Blueberries, cocoa powder and charcoal on the palate. Substantial tannins on a very long finish."

The third Wonderment vintage of Dr. Stan's Vineyard continues to impress. Ruby Red in color, the nose reveals red fruits of raspberries and cherry with a hint of spice. This is followed by the classic Dr. Stan subtle elegance along with a hint of toasted almonds surrounded by the notable earthly layers one has come to expect from this vineyard. The creamy and fleshy texture leads to a long balanced finish. Such as with the 2012 vintage this elegant and sophisticated wine will continue to take on weight in the bottle!
