Zinfandel Chronicles, November 2017 – 94pts  "Dark crimson in color. 15.1% ABV. Sublime nose of brambly red fruits, plums and white pepper. Full bodied with mouth watering acidity. Big, plush and spicy. Raspberry liqueur, cherry compote, brown sugar and pepper on the palate. The finish is exceptionally long.  Super Zinfandel from a tremendous vineyard. Best over the next 3-5 years."

Winesofnote.com, November 2017 - 93pts
"The color is translucent garnet with a pale pink rim, not inky like many Zins. But that is not an indication of what’s to come. The nose transports you back to grandma’s kitchen when she was baking pies; blackberry, ripe cherry, vanilla with a hint of graphite and eucalyptus. The flavors are bold yet somehow elegant. Ripe fruit up front; blackberry, dark cherry and then a layer of dark chocolate and black tea. Silky tannins. The finish is warming and spicy and lingers ….. forever. Fabulous! It’s hard to believe this wine can come from those old gnarly vines. Give it three hours to decant for your best reward. No need to cellar, it’s imminently drinkable now."

PinotFile – November 12th, 2017 - 91pts "Moderately light ruby red color in the glass. Aromas of cherry, strawberry and potpourri lead off. Admirable attack, length and finish in a mid weight style offering flavors of dark red cherry and berry framed by soft tannins and invigorating acidity. Very giving and enjoyable now with the balance to age nicely."

Zinfandel Chronicles - November 2017 - 91pts "Ruby red in color. 14.1% ABV. Great nose of red fruits, pine needle and baking spices. Medium body with medium acidity. Fresh and lighter in style. Cranberries, strawberries and pomegranate on the palate. Medium length on the finish. Delicious Pinot Noir that will be best over the next 2-4 years."

Wine Spectator - May 31, 2018 - 90pts "A briary, zesty red, offering lively raspberry, dried sage and rosemary flavors, with fresh pepper accents that lead to refined tannins. Drink now through 2023." -TF

Zinfandel Chronicles - November 2017 – 92pts "Crimson in color. 14.9% ABV. Scrumptious nose of black fruits, pepper and a hint of peach. Medium to full bodied with medium acidity. Lush yet elegant. Black cherry, black raspberry and pepper on the palate. Medium length on the finish."

Connoisseur's Guide to California Wine, January 2018 - 87pts "The Rockpile district in northern Sonoma County has rightfully become noted for expressive, full-bodied Zinfandels that make no apologies for ripeness, and this fairly forthright version runs right to the brink without going a step over. It is a mouthfilling wine that can age for a bit, yet it is surprisingly approachable now, and, if its riper embrace comes at the cost of a touch of tag-end heat, it does not dry out or give in to desiccation and is kept on course by berry-like fruit."

Wine Spectator - February 2018 - 91pts "Starts slow but builds gracefully, accented by a mix of gravel, dark berry, lavender and anise notes. Drink now through 2026." -J.L.

RobertParker.com #236 – April 27th, 2018 - 90pts
"The pale ruby-purple colored 2015 Pinot Noir Dutton-Campbell Vineyard gives pretty kirsch, baked cranberries and potpourri notes with hints of baking spices and damp soil. The palate is medium to full-bodied, soft and supple in the mouth with plenty of perfumed fruit and a spicy finish.  Drink 2018-2024"

PinotFile – November 12th, 2017 - 92pts
"Moderately light garnet color in the glass. Seductive aromas of fresh cold berries, spice and turned earth.  A mouthful of Pinot goodness in a mid weight plus style featuring an impressive expression of black cherry fruit underlain with notes of warm spices and tobacco. Easy to like now, with micro grain tannins, supportive acidity, and a flattering finish."

Winesofnote.com - November, 2017 - 91pts
"The color is a bright, translucent ruby with a pale pink rim. The nose is not shy, it rises from the glass to greet you with cedar shavings, graphite, raspberry and hints of fresh baked bread. Very inviting. The flavors are bold yet ethereal. Rich fruit up front; blackberry, ripe cherry, tart cranberry that fades into an earthy layer with notes of leather and tobacco. Silky tannins. It has a long warming finish with a touch of oak...  This wine is a great example of how good a Pinot Noir can be. As good as it is now, it’s youth is evident. A year or two in the cellar would do wonders."

Zinfandel Chronicles, November 2017 – 93pts "Light crimson in color. 14.2% ABV. Spellbinding nose of red fruits, forest floor and baking spices. Medium body with ample acidity. Restrained and earthy. Bing cherries, cranberries and earth on the palate. The finish is long and spicy. The wine picks up weight with time in the glass. Well made Pinot Noir. Drink over the next 4-6 years."

*PinotFile – October 30, 2016 - 91pts “This wine is currently sporting some oak swagger which should integrate further with time in bottle. Aromas of cherry, cranberry, cola and baking spices are heady. Elegantly composed and easy to like with mid weight flavors of cherry, raspberry, and oak spice. The tannins are buried, the spry acidity invigorates the wine and the raspberry coulis finish satisfies.”

Classic Violet in color with an attractive bright cherry nose.   The palate exhibits an intensity of spice, white pepper surrounded by red & black fruits.  The velvety texture reveals a long finish with strong acidity and well integrated tannins.

*eRobertParker.com #223 – March 2016, 92pts “… The wine displays a dark ruby/plum color and deliciously sweet black and red currant fruit as well as briary wild berry notes, earth, licorice, and a touch of tapenade. It is classic, full-bodied Zinfandel to drink over the next 5-7 years.“

*Zinfandel Chronicles - Oct 2015, 92pts "Violet in color. 15% ABV. Super nose of red fruits and white pepper. Rich and juicy with mouth watering acidity. Perfect balance. Raspberry, boysenberry and a hint of citrus on the palate. This wine will only improve with a few years in the cellar. Exceptional Russian River Valley Zinfandel from an amazing vineyard."

Wine Spectator - April 2016, 88pts "Burly and ripe, with dark notes of blueberry and blackberry, plus accents of licorice and toasty sage. Drink now through 2021."
